Product Description
Thrust ball bearings cannot accommodate radial loads. Furthermore, they are not suitable for high rotational speeds because the lubricant can be thrown off by centrifugal force. When applied to a horizontal shaft, care must be taken to ensure that the clearance between the inner and outer rings does not cause the ball and cage assembly to disengage from the raceway grooves. Cages are typically made of pressed steel, or machined from high-tensile brass or mild steel. Since these components are separable from the raceways, special care must be taken during handling and mounting to prevent deformation.
